Parliament speaker Mahinda Yapa Abewardhana appeals to all members of parliament to participate for PRC tests.
Currently, about 90 parliament members including government and opposition party members have activities in the parliament are participated for the PCR tests which conducted in Parliament.
The government had decided to conduct PCR tests for all parliament members and its workers immediately with the recent identification of 04 corona infected parliament members.
However, according to unofficial sources, the total number of parliament corona infected has now risen up to 06 as of today (27).
Due to the current situation, the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abewardhana has requested all parliament members to submit their PCR reports to the parliament as soon as possible.
However, according to sources, both ruling and opposition parliament members do not show higher enthusiasm for it.
The speaker has also decided to pause all other non-essential activities in parliament until the situation becomes under control. Furthermore, he has requested from all parliament members not to attain public meetings.
